People know more than they think they do and most of us have far more potential than we fully access. We get bogged down with the day-to-day; we lose sight of who we can really be and what we can really achieve.
Organisations often design and redesign roles, ‘fit’ people into roles and define objectives and deliverables rather than asking individuals- ‘what inspires you?’, ‘what would you like to achieve?’. In the world of ‘job design and best fit’, few employees ever become inspired by their work and are limited by the view or beliefs of the boss or the organisation. Few of us ever get to be the best we can be.
Great coaches and leaders see the individual for who they can potentially be, looking from the broader perspective of what someone is capable of becoming and achieving. They ignite latent potential, encourage people to reach their potential, to live and work at their personal best.
Generating a powerful future and co-creating goals with people out of what they are inspired by, rather than what they could, must or think they should do, brings greater energy. The energy that comes from inspiration, allowing individuals to dream is quite different from the energy that comes from should.

Inspiration is critical to goals and plays a big role in a coach-client relationship. I like your piece.
As a side note, Effective Coaching was the first great book I read on Coaching and I still refer to it in my practice. I went back and looked at my Amazon review from a while back...
