NHS Connecting for Health |
The School of Coaching has been working with the NHS Connecting for Health (CfH)
team on a Leadership Scheme built around our Leader / Manager / Coach model.
The programme involves one-to-one coaching sessions, four formal classroom days
and a supporting mentoring programme. The scheme is designed to give participants
the skills to support each other and their teams in delivering the outputs of
the high pressure CfH programme, and to give them an opportunity to reflect
on their roles and interactions with the various stakeholder groups within the
NHS.

NHS Leadership Programme Pilot |
The NHS Leadership Centre commissioned The School of Coaching to run two pilot programmes for its Chair and Chief Executive teams, to develop:
- better working relationships
- collective problem solving
- co-creating conversations
We designed a combination of three half-day group workshops, followed by three half-day focus sessions where each Chief Executive and Chair would work together with a coach to develop their coaching skills and to work on specific topics that added value to their own health economy. This was augmented by a coaching CD Rom, which helped them develop skills in their own time, rather than taking extra time out of the business.
The programme resulted in a greater shared sense of community and understanding and a number of the Chief Executives felt that this had been so successful that they rolled out the training to their own Boards. Feedback indicated that participants felt their time was well spent because real business issues were addressed, and indeed many were solved, during the sessions.
