17/01/2011 - Better from Fewer Masterclass delivered at the HR Directors Summit, 25 January 2011

The School of Coaching is delivering a Masterclass at the HR Directors Summit on the 25 January at the ICC in Birmingham. We will be delivering an interactive masterclass called Better from Fewer: The line-manager’s role in individual and organisational performance.

Myles Downey will investigate through a presentation and discussion the following themes:

  • The impact of putting the individual at the heart of organisational performance
  • How leadership, management and coaching interweave to create the conditions for high performance
  • The pivotal role of the line-manager
  • Embedding a performance coaching culture

Strong individuals make strong organisations. Putting the individual at the heart of organisational performance delivers many highly-prized results beyond high performance: engagement, discretionary effort and innovation to name a few.

The line-manager’s role, be that person the CEO or a supervisor, is pivotal in driving high performance. Leadership, management and coaching are three skill sets through which the line-manager creates the conditions for high performance and aligns the individual’s performance with the organisations aims.
Coaching has been miscast as, primarily, a development tool while we have forgotten its first and most powerful function; improving performance.

Embedding a high performance culture that includes coaching as a line-manager competence is a goal many organisations are seeking to achieve in a time when resources are restricted – Better from Fewer. We will bring these themes together in an insightful workshop followed by open discussion.

Day Two:
