10/06/2011 - Sky’s Success in Creating a High Performance Coaching Culture

“Initially, I was skeptical about the value of coaching but would now recommend the experience as essential for everyone who has a team to manage and a large and complex role. The results are quick and the benefits huge. It is a very beneficial experience”

Barbara Gibbon, Director of Production, Sky Entertainment Channels

BSkyB, currently one of the world’s leading media companies and a client of The School of Coaching overhauled its coaching strategy and has seen rapid growth in a relatively short period of time.  Sky’s coaching approach, strategy and benefits  are featured in Coaching  at Work (Volume 6, Issue 3) under the headline Channel Changer (click on the link Coaching at Work and see our recent blogs).

The School of Coaching has been working in a close collaborative partnership with Sky since 2009 to create a  culture of results focussed coaching support. This working partnership has resulted in a sustained, nourished and high performance workplace, which started with identifying Sky’s needs and performance objectives. Together we created a new strategy focussed on developing Sky’s internal capability and leaders’ coaching skills, while assessing, auditing and regulating Sky’s external coaches to establish a preferred supplier list (PSL). A cornerstone of The School’s approach is to work with clients to create unique and bespoke solutions aligned to organisational and individual goals.

The School of Coaching proudly stands behind Sky’s commitment to raise awareness and improve the conversations people have at work to cause, develop and to retain high performance. Sky managers have benefited from coaching as well as bringing a coaching style to the way they manage and lead the business.

At The School of Coaching we are committed to supporting organisations to cause high performance, unleash potential, deliver outstanding results and bring about a legacy for sustainable and continuous improvement.  Incorporating the Inner Game approach to breakthrough performance, we apply our own unique models and methodology to develop individuals, teams and organisations, while describing coaching as the art of facilitating the development, learning and performance of another.
