The School of Coaching gains EMCC accreditation
11 June 2007:
The School of Coaching, Europe's longest established organisation dedicated to the development of coaching skills, has been awarded the UK Quality Award at Practitioner Level by the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council). The accreditation has been given to the organisation’s Coach’s Programme, making it one of only six courses in the country to offer this standard.
The EMCC’s Quality Award aims to establish the professional credibility and status of coaching and mentoring, acknowledging excellence and raising standards throughout the industry. It enables purchasers of coaching and mentoring services to understand the quality of what is on offer and choose a provider accordingly, whilst enabling those who complete the course to quote the standard on their CV.
The School of Coaching designed The Coach's Programme to develop executive coaches of integrity and quality. To gain EMCC accreditation, the course went through extensive assessment and consultation regarding quality standards including: governance and academic management, academic standards and quality assurance, effectiveness of staff and student support. The Practitioner Level Award shows that participants have learned to effectively coach executives, directors and boards either within their organisation or with external clients.
“This is a fantastic accolade that really sets The School of Coaching apart as one of the leading coaching skills organisations in the UK,” commented Myles Downey, Founder and Managing Director of The School of Coaching.
“Regulation and assessment is becoming increasingly important in the industry as more and more companies and individuals are realising the benefits that coaching can bring. The EMCC has made it easier for people to differentiate which providers offer the most comprehensive and high quality courses whilst encouraging the whole industry to raise its game.”
The School of Coaching will be hosting regular open evenings for anyone interested in their programmes. For further information please contact The School of Coaching on 020 7087 2710 or visit www.theschoolofcoaching.com
