Alan Palmer is the Operations Manager at The School of Coaching and a qualified executive coach. He lives in Ireland with his wife and two young daughters, and works internationally. He joined JMJ in 2003 and is a founding member of the team that has successfully established JMJ’s business in the Middle East region.

Before joining the company, Alan spent 20 years working in an industrial setting, with extensive experience in high spec gas and chemical and manufacturing environments. Alan is also a qualified and experienced HSE manager. He has been the lead for large business transformation engagements in the oil & gas, construction and manufacturing industries, as well as shipping, pharmaceuticals and semi-conductors.

Alan has account managed for one of the company’s core clients, where he led a team of consultants delivering JMJ’s Incident and Injury-Free safety practice and High Performance Projects interventions. These scopes of work include coaching wherein Alan closely supports executives (CEO and COO level) and managers, as well as overseeing the coaching work delivered by his team.

Alan currently coaches senior executives in both the Middle East and in Europe, mainly in Qatar and the UK and Ireland. Most recently he has been selected as a member of a twenty-strong panel of coaches for Chevron senior management team, supporting them on a global basis. His broad client base includes Bovis Lend Lease, Jacobs, Terminal 5 at Heathrow airport, Laing O’Rourke, Qatargas, RasGas, Shell and ConocoPhillips. Alan has been the lead in support of Qatargas’ corporate visioning and coaching work since 2008. He is trained through The School of Coaching’s Coach’s Programme.
