Bob Mason Big

Bob Mason is an executive coach and a member of Faculty of The School of Coaching. In this role he delivers coach training and development programmes for The School as well as coaching individual executives in client businesses.

Previously, Bob was HR Director for BT’s UK business and SVP, HR for BT’s global mobile operation. He played an influential role in steering several phases of organisational change and led the transformation of the company’s HR function. In BT’s Personal Communications division, through a transformational cultural change programme, he introduced a culture of enhanced customer service based principally on a coaching style of management.

Bob also works as an interim executive working with clients in both the public and private sectors advising on the people and organizational aspects of major change. He has worked for clients in a wide variety of sectors including Transport (London Underground and Go-Ahead plc), Financial Services (Alliance & Leicester and Barclays) and Support Services (Wolseley). He has also worked as an independent consultant in the Department of Health providing strategic HR advice across a range of significant, major change programmes.

He is an active champion of Diversity and was non-executive Deputy Chairman of the Employers’ Forum on Disability. He also chaired the Equal Pay Task Force, which reported back to the Equal Opportunities Commission with recommendations for closing the Gender Pay Gap in the UK.

A graduate of the Universities of Lancaster (BSc) in Management Science /Operational Research and Liverpool (MBA) and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
