Mike Amos Big

In his coaching practise Mike strongly believes that effective coaching is achieved through a mind set of ‘success’ and should first and foremost be a positive experience, that ‘nothing is broken’ and that each individual is capable of realising their true potential. His focus is on helping the individual to enhance their performance and grow in confidence.

Mike works across a wide range of sectors and organisations including professional services, academia, industry and commerce. His work with individual executives on a one-to one basis is at all levels but with particular emphasis on high potential managers, functional directors, managing directors and business leaders. He has coached managers from the UK, Germany and Belgium.

Recent assignments have included coaching for greater impact and confidence, developing and enhancing leadership style, improving interpersonal relationships, building strategic thinking capability, meeting the challenge of new responsibilities/promotion and gaining clarity around career strategy.

Before becoming a professional coach Mike had a successful and diverse corporate career working at board level with a range of well known US and UK companies.

He completed his coach training with The School of Coaching in June 2001, gaining certification from The University of Strathclyde in the following October. In 2009 he qualified as a coaching supervisor with the Bath Consultancy Group.

Mike has an honours degree in Economics from Liverpool University and is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. He is MBTI step 1 and 2 + FIRO-B qualified and is an accredited Belbin Team Role profiler.
